What am I about?

I’m about seeing the body of Christ worldwide, restored, refreshed, and released into a greater level of wholeness… body, soul & spirit!
Bottom line… I want to see “Freedom in the House,” both in my own and in the church! I want to experience a real lasting freedom that affects my life, my marriage and my family. A freedom that will spill over to the generations to come! I would always hear my spiritual father Jack Frost say, “Hurt people hurt people; free people free people!” I want to be one that is walking in a greater level of freedom than I was yesterday and seeing that freedom impact the next person I meet.
Looking back __________________________________________________________________
Living in S.E. Asia as missionaries for 15 years, my husband Bob and I were not only challenged to grow spiritually but also mentally, emotionally and physically. Living in another country seems to have that effect on you! Some of the first steps we began to take physically, were steps towards the kitchen… changing our eating habits!
Intimacy for us began right there… in the kitchen.
(My granny was right – the way to a man’s heart was through his stomach!)
Looking back, intimacy with God increased as well. Food slowly began to take its proper place in my life. Hmmm… this story is beginning to sound a lot like the Israelites coming out of Egypt! For them, food also took on a whole new look as they stepped out of bondage. But just as removing Egypt out of them was more difficult than removing them out of Egypt… so it was for me! Moving out of the US was difficult… but the areas God really wanted to move in were the rooms of my heart that desperately needed freedom from the residue of my Egypt!
There were and still are rooms that hinder my everyday walk with God and definitely affect those around me. I’m discovering that these rooms in my heart have been locked up for generations. Rooms of bondage that I didn’t even realize existed. Rooms that keep me from experiencing “Freedom in the House!” May we continue to grow into “free people who free people!” Can you imagine what our families, our churches and the generations to follow would look like?
I have a plan – it begins with me
___________________________________________________________________
Just as a house has many rooms…so does my heart. I want to see God move in every room of my heart! Nothing hidden, nothing left untouched…every stone rolled away.
I can’t give away what I don’t have.Bob and I didn’t stop in the kitchen….we moved into other rooms of our home as well. The family room…oh my, a lot of bondage there! How do we begin to see freedom for our kids, let alone other family members or…. is that my responsibility?
Then there’s the north room that exists in every family. In my family that was the room in the attic where a zillion of memories were stored tightly away in card board boxes, some good and some not so good. I am desperate to have a “Fresh Encounter” from God come to that room of my heart – desperate. We want to build upward so that our children have a good foundation to build upon.
In saying this, it reminds me of another room - the cellar! In the old farm-house the cellar was cool, wet and dark. A perfect place for snakes to hide out! I can remember my granny asking me to go get a jar of beans on the cellar steps. YUCK! I did not like going down those rickety ole cellar steps. But during tornado season the cellar was a place of refuge… a safe place (but only when granny was with me!)
Today, I see the ole cellar as being the very foundation of what my life has been built upon… a rich heritage indeed. I am forever grateful for where I have come from, but like in every cellar, there are snakes slithering around!
Oh, and we can’t forget another very important room in the house…the bedroom! A place of intimacy – or is it? Is there any residue from Egypt hiding there? Any hang ups, hindrances or bondages that I need freed from? Yup…sure was and still is!
As you can see there are plenty of rooms in my house that need an extreme make-over… body, soul and spirit. So why not begin with me? It seems daily that the Holy Spirit has a way of showing me new rooms in my heart that need a total make-over from Him. I want to grow from “hurt people hurt people” into ”free people free people.” So that my family can grow from “hurt families hurt families” into “free families free families” generation to generation. Then as a church family worldwide, well… we will never be the same!
Venture with me as I pursue a “Fresh Encounter” of God in my life. What a difference that will make in my family, my church, my city and state – freedom for all. Freedom….what a commodity to export to the Nations!
Bob and I now reside in the Kansas City Mo area and are the founders of “Freedom Quest International”, a ministry that travels both nationally and internationally.
