Part IV – “Pain Seeks Comfort”

18 Oct

Pain will always seek comfort… should we try to  count the ways?
We did name a few ways in part II of the pain series  “Pain Must Be Confronted” - with one of them being food! So I figure if we are going to “feed our pain”… why not feed it real good, have fun and at least  feed it with something healthy!
Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to be apart of “feeding our pain” but I do want to be apart of seeing us grow- spirit, soul and body! So join with me and let’s try this yummy scrumptious froze pie. May I introduce to you the “Nut Butter Freeze”!

The pie is then topped with a cashew whip, carob sauce and fresh coconut.
The cashew whip is created by soaking raw cashews for one hour.
Drain and blend in a high-speed blender with a bit of orange juice.
For a sweeter whip you can add 1-2 soaked dates or a squeeze of Agave nector!
(don’t forget to remove the seeds from the dates before soaking and blending!)

NUT BUTTERS
Almond Butter is one cup of raw almonds blended in a food processor
add water as needed until it turns to a butter consistency.

Sesame Butter is made the same way.
For a nuttier taste you can lightly toast the seeds.
It’s that easy!

Be adventurous and add berries, bananas or even mango to this pie.
You can slice-em, dice-em or just blend-em in!

Let those creative juices flow and may your healing continue…
Spirit, Soul and Body!

The carob sauce is just a mixture of  carob powder, agave nectar, vanilla and water.
Adjust ingredients to your taste.
